About Us
Go Renewable is a joint venture partnership website between The MCS Service Company Ltd, registered office: First Floor Violet 3 Sci Tech Daresbury, Keckwick Lane, Warrington, Cheshire, England, WA4 4AB, company registration number 07759366 and The Energy Saving Trust Ltd, registered office: 223-231 Pentonville Road, London, England, N1 9NG, company registration number 02622374.
The partnership website is aimed at increasing in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland the number of installed low carbon energy renewables including heat pumps, solar, biomass, wind and battery storage.

Scope
Whilst both partners have their own privacy policies which can be found here: MCS Privacy Policy and here: Energy Saving Trust Privacy Policy, for the purpose of the Go Renewable website and the delivery of the services offered, the Privacy Policy information below will apply.

Definitions
Personal data, is defined as information concerning any living person (a natural person who hereafter will be called the Data Subject) that is not already in the public domain.
Applicable legislation includes The UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 which all seek to protect and enhance the rights of data subjects.
For the purposes of Go Renewable, both entities are Data Controllers in common.

Consumers Personal Data

Go Renewable uses the information collected from you when you engage with the website, upload your details to the Platform, complete forms or send emails in order to provide home inspection visits, supply contractor names, make telephone contact and to email you information concerning renewables. This information we may collect from you includes:
- Property details and occupancy information
- Contact information including name, email address, phone number and postal address
- Property assessment
- General usage statistics via Google Analytics, Hotjar etc, please see the Cookie Policy for more details.
- Anonymised data collected (which is outside the scope of UK GDPR) may also be incorporated into Home Analytics to improve the Go Renewable’s database.
- Go Renewable may also use the contact details provided by you to respond to your enquiries including making telephone contact, passing your details to third parties including Installers who are contracted to provide certain services on our behalf.
- If you have requested more product details, Go Renewable may use your email details to send you information or ask a third-party to supply you with the material.
- Where we hold personal data such as an email address, we will send you newsletters and other updates on the basis of legitimate interests. You can opt out of these communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link.
- In you making initial contact you agree to Go Renewable maintaining a dialogue with you until you either install a system, opt out (which you can do at any stage) or we decide to desist in promoting our services. At all times, Go Renewable will always try to be fully UK GDPR compliant.
- Some personal data may be collected about you from the forms and surveys you complete, from records of our correspondence, if our service providers visit you, from phone calls and details of your visits to our website, including but not limited to, personal identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.

Go Renewable will only collect the information needed so that it can achieve the following purposes:
- Create an accurate model of your property
- Gain insight and carry out research into the uptake of energy efficiency and low-carbon heating technologies in the UK
- Create a Go Renewable account and display work requirements to installers to bid on
- Monitor usage of the site to improve the Platform over time
- Improve the quality of Energy Saving Trust’s national housing stock database (Home Analytics database)
- To use for our own collective insight and research purposes in accordance with our legitimate interests.
- Telephone calls could be recorded for training and security reasons; call data is retained no longer than needed, unless it is required longer for legal reasons.

Contractors and Installers Personal Data
If you are a contractor and/or installer we may provide your details to consumers where you have relevant experience, to those looking for a supplier. Any details will be accessed from the MCS Installation Database (MID), and it is your own responsibility to ensure these details are regularly updated. The sharing of any personal data will normally be on the basis of legitimate interests.
We may collect the following information from you:
- Company details (e.g. name, email, registration number)
- Company logo
- Finance details
- Quote details
Go Renewable collect these details for the following purposes:
- Register you for a Go Renewable account and enable you to bid for work on our platform
- Present the householder with a summary of your quote

Process payments.
Installer finance details are required to pay for their quotes and any other service commissioned. The Payment Gateway is handled by a third-party service provider, Braintree and Go Renewable will not have direct access to this information.

Legal Basis For Processing Personal Data
Where possible we will rely on legitimate interests to meet our obligations to consumers and suppliers and to respond to enquiries concerning the products and/or services highlighted.
This includes promoting our services with regard to renewables which are all low carbon technologies. Communications may include direct mail, email, newsletters, telephone calls, social media and any other channels to reach those who may be interested in installing renewables.
Where it is not possible to rely on legitimate interests, we will seek the most appropriate from one of the five other legal options which are: consent, vital interests, contractual, public interest and legal obligation.

Enquiries
Through reading this Privacy Policy, you are confirming that Go Renewable can process your personal data for the purposes outlined. You can opt out of future marketing material by clicking the opt out link or using the email address provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.

Disclosure
Go Renewable will keep your personal information safe and secure, although our small administration team will have access to your contact details so that they can manage your enquiries. Go Renewable will only use your personal data for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, we will not disclose your personal data to unconnected third parties, apart from those helping to deliver our services, unless compelled in order to meet legal obligations, regulations or valid governmental requests.
Go Renewable may also enforce its separate Terms and Conditions, including investigating potential violations of them to detect, prevent or mitigate fraud or security or technical issues; or to protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of its staff.

Retention Policy
Go Renewable will process personal data for the duration of any enquiries and will continue to store only the personal data needed for seven years after any contact or contract has expired to meet its legal obligations. After seven years your personal data will be deleted, unless any information needs to be retained by us to meet legal, compliance and/or contractual obligations.

Data Sharing
Go Renewable has engaged Elmhurst Energy Services Ltd, the UK’s largest independent provider of energy assessment and retrofit to undertake property inspections. For the purposes of Go Renewable, Elmhurst Energy will be acting as a Data Processor and is subject to a Data Processing Agreement. You can find Elmhurst Energy Privacy Policy here
Go Renewable will sometimes use other companies and organsiations (third parties) to process personal information for us. For example, we use may use third parties to process activities such as financial transactions.

Personal Data storage
All Personal Data is held in the United Kingdom. Go Renewable does not store personal data outside the UK and EEA.

Your rights as a data subject
At any point whilst Go Renewable is in possession of, or processing your personal data, all data subjects have the following rights:
- Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.
- Right of rectification – you have the right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.
- Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply you have the right to restrict the processing.
- Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.
- Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.
- Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right not to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.
In the event that Go Renewable refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why, which you have the right to legally challenge.
At your request, Go Renewable can confirm what information it holds about you and how it is processed.

To access what personal data is held, identification may be required
Go Renewable will accept the following forms of ID when information on your personal data is requested: a copy of your driving licence, passport, birth certificate and a utility bill not older than three months. A minimum of one piece of photographic ID listed above and a supporting document is required. If Go Renewable is dissatisfied with the quality, further information may be sought before personal data can be released.

Children’s Data Privacy
The Go Renewable website is not intended for children and Go Renewable does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone under 18, and will dispose of any such information (unless we have parental consent) if we become aware that it has been provided to us.
If you believe that your child has submitted personal data to Go Renewable via the website, please contact us at DataProtectionOfficer@est.org.uk so that the necessary actions can be taken to delete the information.

Complaints
In the event that you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by Go Renewable you have the right to complain to us. If you do not get a response within 30 days you can then complain to the ICO.
